In upcoming years, Greater Montréal's job market will need new blood. According to Emploi Québec (PDF, in French only), between 2015 and 2019, more than 321,600 jobs will need to be filled. 70% of these will be replacement demands as workers retire, while 30% will result from the creation of new jobs linked to economic growth. An additional 100,000 jobs will likely be created over this period. Greater Montréal shall experience faster job growth (0.9%) than in Québec overall (0.8%).

These fast-growing sectors are constantly looking for new talent and skilled labour. Sectors with the keenest interest are the Aerospace, Visual Effects, Video Games, Big Data, Virtual Reality, Life Science and Health Technology, and Financial Technology. These sectors are expected to hire a large number of new employees over the upcoming years in Greater Montréal.
